How to convert a Kotlin Code File to a Java Code File

Solution 1

 In IntelliJ or Android Studio, you have to follow the following steps to get java code from Kotlin.

  1. Menu > Tools > Kotlin > Show Kotlin Bytecode
  2. After that click on the Decompile button
  3. Then copy the java code

Note

With a newer version (1.2+) of the Kotlin plug-in, you can also decompile directly in Java in the menu -> Tools -> Kotlin -> Kotlin.

Solution 2

Java and Kotlin run on the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Converting a Kotlin file to a Java file involves two steps. H. compiling the Kotlin code into JVM bytecode and then decompiling the bytecode into Java code.

Steps to convert your Kotlin source file to a Java source file

  1. Open your Kotlin project in Android Studio.
  2. Then go to Tools -> Kotlin -> View Kotlin Bytecode.
  3. You will receive the bytecode of your Kotin file.
  4. Now click on the Decompile button to get your Java code from bytecode
